Drowning in Myself

I was sinking—

not into water,

but into a grief that had grown me from the inside out—

so vast, so heavy,

I felt myself disappear, moment by moment,

a ship swallowed by its own storm,

anchored quietly in you.

You never noticed the days the wind came

and no one raised a sail within me.

You never saw the rain fall

and no one bailed the water from my deck.

You never felt the storms rage

and no one reached for my lifeboats.

You never noticed

that within me, no one even tried to be saved.

…….

Woman in Iran

Woman in Iran by Nasim Lotfi is a poetic and critical exploration of Iranian women’s place across history.

From ancient priestesses to today’s silenced voices,

this book weaves history, gender, religion and resistance into one honest narrative.

It is not only research —

it is the echo of those who were erased, but never truly gone.
